i spent some time with my nephews and niece this weekend and i had some board games (you know like the kind we used to play with when we were kids) in my car as i was cleaning out a closet and really have no use from them so planning on putting into storage at my parents until i have my own kids. my one nephew asked if he could play them and i said well they are adult games, i don't have any kids games. he says with a puzzling look "well why not Aunt Katie?" my reply, "well you see Ethan i don't have any kids of my own and until i do i really have no need for kids games." (i'm thinking great reply that'll keep him quiet for at least 30 seconds- but not so fast...) he replys back "i think you should get some kids then." me- "okay hmmm, well i'm sure one day i'll get some kids but not today." (okay then, that's the end of the conversation right-nah" Ethan goes "okay in 5 days you get some kids then you can get some kids toys and i can come over and play them." well... 5 days, might be kind of hard considering i'm not pregnant and have no intentions of jumping into an adoption situation in the next 5 days. "well Ethan, i'll ahve to get back to you on that, 5 days is very soon and i'm not ready for kids that soon." Ethan: "okay then 100 days, is that good?" --- me: "yes Ethan, i'll see what i can do about that." ... so in the meantime i'm going to go stock my house with some 'kids games' maybe then my nephew will forgot about the 'kids' that he thinks comes along with the games.
kids say the darnest things, gotta love them :)
